Shek Kip Mei Jockey Club | Joint School Art Exhibition 2024/25
Description
The 'Creative Students Reward Scheme', organised by the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art (HKSEA), is a long-term developmental project centred on kindergarten and primary school students in Hong Kong, with art education as its foundation. The scheme aims to address the lack of creativity among local students and establish a sustainable arts community. Consultations for the scheme began as early as 2005, and it was officially launched in the 2013-2014 academic year. Over the years, the number of art education projects under the scheme has grown steadily thanks to donations and support from individuals and organisations, allowing the scheme to adhere to the principle of sustainable development. It nurtures a group of children who are brave in expression, daring in innovation, appreciative of arts, and willing to share, thereby contributing to the development of a city filled with artistic atmosphere.
Students who complete a sufficient number of art activities during the academic year, including personal creations, art sharing, exhibition visits, and parent-child creations or experiences, will be awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals as a form of encouragement. The scheme has gradually gained recognition in the education sector over the years, attracting more schools to participate. In the 2024-2025 academic year, a total of 64 schools and nearly 8,300 students took part in the scheme.
Starting in 2017, a "School-Based Project Showcase" will be added, allowing participating schools to freely display outstanding student work and providing more students with opportunities to showcase their work. This year's exhibition features 11 primary schools, showcasing student works on different themes and in various media to demonstrate the fruitful results achieved by each school in actively implementing the project over the past year.
